David Tangipa Advances to General Election for AD8, Wins Fresno County in Primary

FRESNO - David Tangipa has advanced to the November General Election for Assembly District 8 after a strong showing in the March 5th Primary.  Tangipa won 31.3% of all votes cast in a four candidate field.  Most notably, Tangipa won Fresno County, the largest portion of AD 8, by 7 points over all other candidates.  Fresno County currently holds 62.8% of all voters in District 8.

When asked about his primary victory, Tangipa stated, “I cannot express enough how thankful I am for the outpouring of support behind my campaign.  The voters of District 8 are ready for new life in the Assembly, and I will continue to work tirelessly to have the chance to represent them in Sacramento.”  Tangipa added, “Receiving 42,318 votes is not just a number, it is a reflection of the aspirations and hopes of the people in our community.  The work has just begun for the general election.”

David Tangipa’s campaign for State Assembly District 8 also includes an extensive list of endorsers, including: Assemblyman Jim Patterson, Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer, Fresno DA Lisa Smittcamp, Fresno Sheriff John Zanoni, Peace Officers Research Association of California, California Correctional Peace Officers Association, Fresno Police Officers Association, Cal Fire, and many others.
